Micromax Canvas LapTab – LT666
Micromax announced Canvas LapTab in India on Thursday. It is a hybrid device which can be used as Laptop or Tablet. Micromax showed LapTab early in CES 2014 where it was Android + Windows 8 dual boot device. After more than a year it was finally launched with Windows 8.1 OS.
Design & Display
Canvas LapTab has 10.1” IPS MultiTouch capacitive display with resolution of 1280 X 800. It weighs around 1.1kg with keyboard. Dimensions of Canvas LapTab 259.2 X 175.4 X 9.2mm. Tablet weight 610g and keyboard weight 466g.
Hardware & Software
Micromax Canvas LapTab runs on Intel Atom Z3735F Quad-core chip with maximum frequency of 1.83GHz and 2GB RAM. It has 32GB eMMC inbuilt storage which can be expanded up to 64GB via External Memory card and 1TB Onedrive cloud storage. Canvas LapTab has Windows 8.1(32bit) and MS Office pre-installed with 1 year subscription of Office365. Canvas LapTab can be upgraded to Windows 10 for free when available.
Connectivity
Micromax Canvas LapTab comes with 3G sim card slot for internet connectivity. It also supports WiFi 802.11 b/g/n and blutooth 4.0. There is 2MP rear camera and 2MP front camera for video calling. There is Micro USB port on tablet and 1 USB 2.0 port on keyboard. Other ports include headphone jack, mic and 2 speakers. It has G-sensor but availability of other sensors is yet to be confirmed. Micromax Canvas LapTab comes with 7700mAh battery which can last for 10 hours.
Micromax Canvas LapTab will be available from 6th May 2015 on Amazon.in for the price of Rs.14999. Micromax is also planning to release more such devices in coming 1 year ranging from 10” to 15” display size.
Canvas LapTab is a very interesting product from Micromax at low price. There are other alternatives like Notion Ink Cain, Swipe Ultimate Tablet, Croma Tablet and others in same product category.
