Lava Mobiles has launched Lava V5 4G smartphone with 5.5 inch HD display at Rs.11499. The smartphone is available in White color via physical retail stores and multi-brand outlets as well as online exclusively via eBay India. It is supported by CAT4 4G LTE and is VoLTE upgradeable by FOTA update.

The Lava V5 is powered by 1.3GHz Quad-core MediaTek MT6735 (64-bit) paired with Mali-T720 GPU and 3 GB RAM. 5.5 inch HD (1280 X 720) display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. It has 16 GB internal memory which is expandable via microSD card up to 32 GB. It supports 4G on both SIM but only one sim slot can be 4G at a time. Other connectivity features include WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS and it also supports USB OTG. The V5 runs on Android 5.1 lollipop with Lava’s own Star OS 2.0 on top, Lava says it will get Android 6 Marshmallow update.

For photography, it has a 13-megapixel (Samsung ISOCELL sensor) rear camera as well as an 8-megapixel front camera. The rear camera features PDAF, f/2.0 aperture, 5P Largan lens with Blue glass filter and dual LED flash. On the other hand, front camera features f/2.2 aperture with 84-degree wide angle lens and LED flash for selfie shots in low light. Other camera features include Pic Focus, Wide Selfie, Night Pro and GIF Mode.

The device gets juice from 3000 mAh Li-Polymer battery that can provide a talk time of slightly more than 14 hours on 3G. Looking at the specifications, recently launched Lenovo K4 Note and Letv Le 1s offers more on the specs-to-price ratio. Both phones feature 5.5-inch Full HD display whereas the V5 has a 720p display.
