Motorola & Verizon announced Droid Turboo 2, the successor to last year’s Droid Turbo. Motorola claims it has shatterproof display, branded as “ShatterShield”. Motorola’s exclusive Moto ShatterShield display technology is an integrated system consisting of five layers designed from materials that absorb shock from impact and are guaranteed not to shatter.

The Droid Turbo 2 features Ultra hi-res 5.4 inch Quad HD display. It is powered by Octa core Snapdragon 810 (MSM8994) clocked at 2.0GHz paired with Adreno 430 GPU. 32GB or 64GB internal storage can be expanded via microSD card up to 2TB and it has 3GB LPDDR4 RAM. Single sim device supports following network bands,

• CDMA (850, 1900MHz)
• GSM / GPRS / EDGE (850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz)
• UMTS / HSPA+ (850, 900, 1900, 2100 MHz)
• 4G LTE (B2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 13)

21MP rear camera comes with f/2.0 aperture, PDAF and CCT flash with dual LED. Other camera features include Burst Mode, Night Mode, Auto HDR, Panorama, Slow Motion video and it also supports 4k video recording. 5MP front camera features f/2.0 aperture, wide angle lens and 1.4um pixel for better low light and flash.

The smartphone comes with Water repellent nano-coating and it features Front-ported loud speaker and 5-Mics with active noise cancellation support. The device sports 3760 mAh battery that supports TurboPower, PMA and Qi Wireless Charging. The Droid Turbo 2 will be available online and in stores from October 29 starting at US $624 off contract. UPDATE : Motorola announced international version of Droid Turbo 2 as Moto X Force. The specifications remains same and it will be available from mid November in select countries. It is priced £499 for the 32GB model and £534 for the 64GB in UK.
